In New Quizzes, instructors should take note that there are two independent toggles in Canvas that control the release of grades to students after writing a quiz. Both must be changed from their default setting for not immediately releasing grades after automatic grading:

• After clicking 'Build', in the Settings (shown below), toggle On "Hide results from students". Otherwise, students will immediately see their quiz score, and will be able to revisit the quiz page to view it.
  
  
    
  
  
  
• In the gradebook, the grade posting policy must be set to 'manually post grades' and the column hidden from students, bearing the label "Manual" . Otherwise, the grade will be visible in the student's grade report.
