eClass Major Outage Schedule 2024-2025

Attention eClass users,

eClass requires regularly scheduled outages to perform necessary updates and maintenance on specific dates designed to minimize the impact to the majority of users.

For the coming year, full 24-hour maintenance windows for eClass are scheduled for the following dates:

  • August 24th, 2024
  • January 4th, 2025
  • May 3rd, 2025
  • June 21st, 2025

Each outage will run from 12:00 AM to 11:59 PM unless otherwise posted. eClass will be unavailable for the duration of each outage,

eClass Outage - Tuesday, July 2 2024 - 10:00-13:00

Attention eClass Users,

At approximately 11:00 AM on July 2, 2024, users were not able to connect to eClass or any pages located at https://support.eclass.ualberta.ca.

Technical teams resolved the incident by 13:00.

Users still experiencing issues should try resetting their browser cache and contact eclass@ualberta.ca for persisting issues.

COMPLETED: eClass Maintenance Outage June 22nd, 2024 12:00AM - 11:59PM

UPDATE: The outage was completed early - eClass was released at 1:10AM.

Attention eClass users,

There will be a scheduled maintenance outage for eClass on Saturday, June 22nd 2024 from 12:00AM - 11:59PM (24 hours). This outage is required to perform a minor version update to eClass.

RESOLVED: Zoom Meeting Links within eClass Not Functioning

UPDATE: The vendor has resolved this issue.

Attention eClass Users,

There is an active issue with Zoom's integration service that is preventing users from accessing Zoom via eClass. The vendor is aware of this issue and their analysts are currently investigating.

Zoom meetings themselves are not affected so instructors can still deliver any scheduled lectures or other sessions by signing into Zoom outside eClass and sharing the direct meeting url to students.

eClass Scheduled Course Archiving 2024

Attention eClass users,

We have an important announcement that may impact your older credit courses on eClass.

The annual scheduled archiving of credit courses for this year has been scheduled for May 27th, 2024. This process, described in more detail here, mandates that credit courses can only remain on eClass for a maximum duration of four years. Non-credit courses including sandboxes, content development templates, research/collaboration courses, and eClass External courses are not

Attention eClass users,

UPDATE: The outage was completed early and access to eClass was restored at 1:00AM.

Please be aware that there will be an eClass maintenance outage on Thursday February 22nd 2024 from 12:00AM to 2:00AM. This outage is required to perform a minor version upgrade to eClass and release a bug fix for the Respondus Quiz Author integration. Question bank statistics will also be enabled at this time.

eClass will be unavailable throughout the maintenance window.
