eClassLive (Adobe Connect) Add-in Forced Version Change August 26th, 2017

Attention eClassLive Users,

On September 9th 2017, the current version of the Adobe Connect Add-in (a tool required to use several of the eClassLive features including screen sharing, meeting recording, and others) will cease functioning.

Adobe released a new version of the add-in August 9th 2017 to resolve this issue, which is available for download here. If you have not already installed it, we recommend that you use Firefox to complete this installation, as Chrome’s built-in version of Flash

Attention eClass users,

UPDATE: eClass is now available: the maintenance outage was completed early and the site was released at 10:45AM.

There is a scheduled maintenance outage for eClass on Saturday August 26th 2017 from 12:00AM - 11:59PM. This outage is required to perform infrastructure maintenance and to release several improvements to eClass. Some of the new changes include:

eClass Maintenance Outage Saturday, August 5th, 2017 6:00AM - 1:00PM

Attention eClass users,

Please be aware that eClass will require an outage on Saturday, August 5th, 2017 from 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM. This outage is required by our hosting provider to apply file system upgrades to the eClass infrastructure.

eClass and eClassLive will be unavailable for the duration of this outage. If you have any questions about this outage, please contact us at eclass@ualberta.ca

eClass Major Outage Schedule 2017-2018

Attention eClass users,

eClass requires regularly scheduled outages to perform necessary updates and maintenance to eClass and eClassLive on specific dates designed to minimize the impact on the majority of eClass users.

For the coming year, full 24-hour and 48-hour maintenance windows for eClass and eClassLive are scheduled for the following dates:

  • August 26th 2017 (24 hours)
  • January 6th - 7th 2018 (48 hours)
  • May 5th, 2018 (24 hours)
  • June 23rd - 24th 2018 (48 hours)

Each 24-hour outage

RESOLVED: eClassLive (Adobe Connect) - Issues Uploading PDF Files

UPDATE: This issue has now been resolved.

 

Attention eClassLive (Adobe Connect) Users,

We have identified an issue in eClassLive where Hosts and Presenters will receive an error when uploading a new PDF file to a share pod. Previously uploaded PDF files and all other files types do not seem to be affected by this issue.

Our hosting provider is currently investigating and working with our Adobe Connect vendor to try and find a resolution as soon as possible. In the meantime, we recommend

UPDATED: eClass Upgrade Summer 2017 Complete

Attention eClass Users,

UPDATE: As of 5:00PM Saturday June 24th both eClass and eClassLive have been upgraded and released.

Please be aware that in June 2017, we will be performing a major version upgrade to eClass. This upgrade will introduce a large number of feature improvements across the site and will also include a major upgrade to eClassLive.

The upgrade will require a full system outage, which has been scheduled for Saturday, June 24th 2017 from 12:00AM until Sunday June 25th at 11:59PM
