eClassLive (Adobe Connect) Upgrade Summer 2017

Attention eClassLive (Adobe Connect) Users,

 

Please be aware that in June 2017, we will be performing a major version upgrade to eClassLive (Adobe Connect).

The upgrade will require a full system outage, which has been scheduled for Saturday, June 24th 2017 from 12:00AM until Sunday June 25th at 11:59PM.

This upgrade will introduce a large number of feature improvements to the service and will also resolve a number of minor system issues. The highlights of these changes are as follows:

  • Users will now receive a series of pop-up tip sheets customized to their role when first logging into the system.
  • Users can now save recordings offline directly in .mp4 format.
  • The whiteboard controls have been streamlined and include a new option enabling students to print off their own copy of the shared content.
  • Screen sharing now offers a better preview and a mini-toolbar enabling instructors to see the major components of the interface over top of their shared content to better interact with students will sharing.
  • Single-click options are now available to grant microphone and webcam participant permissions.
  • The requirement for Flash be installed on a user’s machine has now been removed - it is now possible to attend meetings using only the downloaded browser Add-in.
  • Repairs to some issues with audio recording and offline conversions (as well as numerous other bug fixes.)

Please note that this upgrade will occur at the same time as the major eClass upgrade and although we have booked a 48 hour maintenance window, the systems will be made available as soon as the required infrastructure and application changes are complete. We will be sending an additional announcement once access to eClassLive has been restored.
