RESOLVED: eClass Forum Post eMail Problem February 14th 2019

Attention eClass Users,

RESOLVED: February 15th, 10:45AM - eClass developers and our hosting provider determined the cause of the issue and repaired it. Forum post emails are now processing correctly and have begun being sent to users. It may take several hours for all the messages accumulated over the interruption period to be mailed out.

UPDATE: February 14th, 2019, 4:00PM - eClass support developers are continuing to investigate but no solution is available at this time.

Users have begun reporting that eClass forum post emails have not been sending. This means that messages posted by instructors to course announcement forums are not being sent directly to student’s ualberta gmail addresses as they normally would be. Regular eClass functions and other system notification types (assignments, quizzes, person-to-person messages etc.) are working normally.

eClass support staff have begun investigating.

Until the issue is resolved, instructors can consult Alternatives to Emailing Students through Course Announcement Forums for other communication options. It is also recommended that students check their eClass course announcement forums to ensure they keep up to date.
