Attention Digital Learning Environment Users,

This message contains important information about the upcoming permanent change to Alberta time on November 1st 2026. Since this change may have impacts on any centrally-supported DLE services that involve scheduling and submission times, we have coordinated with our vendors for guidance on minimizing disruptions when the change occurs.

Many of our service providers have advised that there should be no impacts arising from the change as their underlying processes will adjust the timing automatically; others have provided instructions that users will need to follow to ensure their event or assignment dates are accurate. Specific services and steps are listed below.

Services where no action is required:

• Canvas
• Edufide (Assign2 and SEM)
• Wooclap
• FeedbackFruits
• Yuja

Services where users must take action:

• Zoom: the vendor has provided the following update. Users will need to adjust their account time zone setting and review the start times of their meetings. 
• Canvas-STACK Integration: Users will have settings to review, those affected will be contacted directly via email.
• eClass External: Users will have settings to review, those affected will be contacted directly via email.

Note that these instructions are separate from the information already posted by IST regarding Google calendar events.

As blanket guidance, we recommend that all users make sure their browsers and operating systems are up to date and confirm the accuracy of submission or meeting times after November 1st, 2026 once the new Alberta time change has gone live.
