Problems with eClass Calendar and DST

Attention eClass users,

eClass is currently experiencing an issue with calendar events not respecting the shift to daylight savings time. The issue only affects manually-created, recurring calendar events that were created prior to the shift off of DST on November 2, 2014, and that occur in the month of November. Any instances of the same recurring event that are outside November are unaffected and events associated with other eClass activities are not affected.

IST eClass support is investigating potential solutions in conjunction with Moodle HQ as there have been previously reported issues surrounding DST date calculations. However due to the complexity of this problem, these repairs are not going to be in place in the short term.

The only workaround available at present is to delete the specific instances of any recurring events that are mis-timed in the month of November and then to re-create a new recurring event for the month with the correct times.
