Attention ePortfolio users,

The Mahara ePortfolio service will be unavailable Tuesday May 3rd 2016 from 10:00PM until 11:59PM. This outage is required to upgrade the system to the latest version.

The new version of the service offers a number of required security and general bug fixes. There are also a significant number of exciting new features including: a new modern theme architecture, rich-text editor functional improvements, block enhancements (text, notes, annotations, journals, folders), better notifications for shared pages and feedback in groups, and the full implementation of WCAG 2.0 AA (accessibility). One major thing to note is that upon initial release, any pages where you have selected a custom page theme will revert to the new default theme. The new architecture of Mahara themes is a big change and the old default themes could not be ported forward. You will have the option to select a new theme when you edit your old pages and your choice includes a new institution theme that has been branded for the U of A. Some users may also want to use the new skinning feature that allows personalized customization of pages. The other available themes will become site-branded as time allows.

eClass and eClassLive will be unaffected by this outage.
