Editing Content Section Headings

Each eClass course is organized into a series of content sections on the main course page. The heading area of each content section can be edited with titles that help organize the distinct sections of your course. Content section titles can only contain simple text, however, the title summary description can act as a subtitle, header or content block allowing you to include images, horizontal bars, links, HTML, etc.
These content section titles are different from labels because they are associated with a specific section, whereas labels can be added in any topic of your course and can be re-positioned to anywhere within particular topics - titles always remain at the top of a content block.
Editing a Content Section Heading
- Click on Edit Mode near the top right of the course.
- Move to the content section area where you wish to change the default title (e.g., Topic 3) and click on the corresponding 3 Dots near the top right of the section and then click Edit topic in the dropdown that opens.
- Next to Section name, check the Custom option, then type in your new title.
You can also add a summary description containing text, images, tables, links, etc., that will appear directly below your title. For a more in-depth look at adding graphical content, see the article Adding a custom banner to your course.
- Remember to click the Save changes button at the bottom of the page when you are done.
- Note that in the Collapsed topics and Collapsed Topics with Collapsed Labels course formats, you can also edit the content section title and header by clicking the edit icon found underneath the title.
