NOTICE: Please be advised that the content of this article may only be relevant for users concluding the final stages of course work on eClass or for users on the eClass External system. The eClass Learning Management System is currently in a read-only state that prohibits new courses, enrollments, and users from being added to the site. Credit courses and co-curricular courses at the UofA are now being delivered on Canvas, and full articles on how to use Canvas can be found here.
Non-credit courses are courses that are not tied to a credit section on Bear Tracks. These can include research/collaboration courses, content development templates, or resource courses that supplement a regular credit course. Non-credit courses are also commonly used by departments as places to share instructional resources and strategies for using eClass. Non-Credit eClass courses are created via our automatic course request process submitted online which allows you to supply a title for the course, copy previous content forward, control the enrollments, etc. To get started with your course request, please visit: https://cc.cloud.eclass.ualberta.ca/ OR Navigate to the U of A home page (http://www.ualberta.ca), click the eClass link near the top right, then click on the Request your course in eClass button underneath the heading 'Instructors' in the left hand column. Note: If you require users who do not have CCIDs to access your course, you should request an External eClass course instead. If you have any questions about this process, especially if you are unsure of what type of course you should request, please call IST eClass Support at 780-492-9372 and we will assist you. Incorrect course requests are much easier to address in advance.
