UPDATE: The emergency outage was completed early at 10:40PM and access to eClass was restored. Performance has improved but IT staff will continue to be monitor the site closely.

eClass requires an emergency outage tonight Wednesday September 6th, 2023 from 10:00 to 11:00PM. This outage window will be used by the hosting team to rebuild critical components of the infrastructure.

eClass will be unavailable for the duration of this outage window.

UPDATE: The course creation system has resumed processing courses and the backlog will be cleared as soon as possible.

The eClass Course Creation service is currently experiencing an issue that is preventing new course requests from being processed. This issue is also affecting the Import feature (and other backup/restore operations) in eClass.

Welcome back staff, faculty, and students for the Fall 2023 U of A semester! All users should be aware of the following changes that have occurred in the digital learning environment over the summer: 

• eClass went through a major upgrade that updated the look of the site and improved the user interface. Notable functional changes include improved workflows for creating print copies of exams and the ability to easily communicate course content changes to students.
