New in Fall 2026. In addition to the existing Features of the Canvas Dashboard, Canvas has added new customizable features called widgets. These new feature widgets include a list of your coursework and submission status, course announcements, and a search widget for locating people in your courses (where allowed by your instructor). In addition to the default features, three other widgets are available: a to-do list, an announcement creation tool, and accessibility improvements. After you activate the new dashboard view, your course tiles or list will be moved to a new tab just a click away. You can revert to the old tiles-only or list-only view at any time.
