New Course Creation System Coming Soon

Attention eClass users,

We will be releasing a new version of the eClass Course Creation system on Thursday, July 2nd 2020. This new application is a complete rebuild of the old system including new infrastructure, a modernization of the look and feel, and easy-to-use workflows.

Specific changes in this upgrade include:

  • The interface has been completely overhauled to include a more modern design.
  • Users can now view a log of their previous requests.

Attention eClass users,

Update: eClass is now available. The outage was completed early and the site was released at 9:50AM June 20th, 2020.

This is a reminder that there will be a scheduled maintenance outage for eClass Saturday June 20th 2020 from 12:00AM to 11:59PM (24 hours). This outage is required to perform infrastructure maintenance and an update to eClass.


The updates to eClass during this outage will include the following changes:

Attention eClass External Users,

Update: The scheduled outage was completed early and eClass external was released for use at.8:05AM.

We are writing to let you know about a planned outage for eClass External on Saturday May 23rd 2020 from 7:00 - 9:00AM. This outage will be releasing changes to the account creation process by adding the option to sign in with an existing non-ualberta google account. Zoom App Update

Attention Zoom Users,

Please be aware that Zoom has released an update this month that will require users to download a new version of the Zoom App. While many users have already downloaded this latest version, anyone who has not can find the latest update here. After May 30th, 2020, all Zoom clients on older versions will be required to upgrade before joining meetings as GCM Encryption will be fully enabled on the system.

eClass Scheduled Course Archiving 2020

Attention eClass users,

We have an important announcement that may impact your older credit courses on eClass.

The annual scheduled archiving of credit courses for this year has been planned for May 27th, 2020. This process, described in more detail here, mandates that credit courses can only remain on eClass for a maximum duration of four years. Non-credit courses including sandboxes, content development templates, research/collaboration courses, and eClass External courses are not affected by

RESOLVED: eClass Mobile App Issues

UPDATE: This issue has been resolved. eClass Mobile App users should now be able to correctly view their class lists and access their courses.
