Attention DLE Users,

We have a number of updates across the Digital Learning Environment for everyone to be aware of.

• Canvas students will now have access to a new dashboard providing a more custom experience and can use the new Notebook feature to make personal footnotes on any canvas pages.
  
• The Bookstore’s Course Material Access program is now available in Canvas allowing students to access all their course’s digital textbook content through their profiles.
  
• The LearnWise AI Pilot is now available as an integrated tool in Canvas allowing instructors to provide an in-course AI-tutor and streamlined feedback for students. The tool also provides a new global ‘Campus Assistant’ tool to answer admin, IT, and Canvas support questions.
• Canvas Course Requests can now be configured to include previous course announcements. These are now disabled by default with a checkbox providing the option to include them. 
• Zoom has released a new user interface that is intuitive and modernized. Users can opt-in to try the new interface starting Aug. 26th, 2026; all accounts will be automatically upgraded on September 20th 2026.

For any instructors who are teaching with Canvas for the very first time, we recommend reviewing the following articles:

Instructors delivering quizzes with Canvas should also be aware of the latest tips and known issues.

As a general reminder, Canvas users should also take note that all email notifications from our campus LMS will be sent from an external email domain, notifications@instructure.com. These are legitimate emails with users able to configure their personal notifications settings to modify the amount of email they receive from Canvas.
